3 Things to Ask About When Looking for a Tow Company

If your vehicle breaks down on the side of the road and you cannot fix it yourself, then you are going to need the assistance of a towing company. Here are three things you should ask about when trying to find the right towing company to assist you.

#1 Arrival Time

The first thing that you need to ask about is when the towing company can get to you. Keep in mind that this can vary based on a number of factors, such as the weather, traffic, and customer demand.

For example, if there was a big storm in your area, the towing company may be under more demand and have longer wait times than on a sunny, calm day.

Also, be sure to ask about the company's average arrival time to jobs, not just the time that they could get to you today. This will provide you with insight into how quickly this company usually responds to calls and moves on from one call to the next.

For example, if one company has an average arrival time of twenty minutes, and another company has an average arrival time of an hour and a half, you'll likely want to go with the first company since they'll generally be able to reach you faster.

Use this information to determine if the average wait time and the estimated arrival time match up with your needs.

#2 Payment Types

When you are stranded on the side of the road, it is vitally important that you ask about what type of payments will be accepted by the towing company. You want to make sure that they accept the type of payment that you have on you, be it a specific credit or debit card, checks, or cash. You don't want the tow truck to arrive after a long wait only to discover that you can't pay the company and can't get towed.

#3 Hours of Operation

Lastly, you need to ask about the hours of operation. Some towing companies run twenty-four hours a day, while others have limited hours. You don't want to be stranded on the side of the road because the towing company you called couldn't get to you before their closing time.

If you find yourself needing roadside assistance, call companies like Whistler Towing and ask about the above factors. It's also a good idea to do your research beforehand and have a phone number ready to call in case of emergency.
